Abstract

The purpose of this research is to highlight the effect of perceiving as well as observing the objectives of jihad and its conditions in promoting peace and social security in all the reveled laws (or divine laws). The work has adopted doctrinal methodology where both primary and secondary were adopted.  The research finds that all laws did not command extremism. This is because the purpose of Allah’s ruling is to benefit His servant which proves the falsehood that negates purposeful rulings as expounded by extremists. It is the failure to determine provisions of Shari’ah based on its purposes that led to deviation from the purpose the Lawgiver intended. It also shows that all revealed laws did not accept extremism.  It is unreasonable to say that the wise legislator legislates jihad with the intention of killing, displacement and destabilizing social security. This is because the revealed textual provisions have demonstrated the necessity and importance of security maintenance. The researchers recommend including objectives of jihad in Secondary and Colleges syllables so that emerging populations will grow up with awareness that jihad is for the benefit of mankind and not its detriment. It also advises governments to provide legal and regulatory guidelines that will block the route of extremism through supervision of preachers.
